NOT QUITE TOMAS, poem by pd lyons

NOT QUITE TOMAS

Crosses the church yard
W/a girl that would have been Sorcha if it were

How much more than footsteps
Between us now

Yet still I look
Expecting him has caught my eye

There used to be horses before Cabra
Sanctuary on the Liffey

Our children would meet, play,
Remember one another’s birthdays
