Afternoon At The Flathouse

pd lyons

Open air

Cobble street,

Church bell rhapsody

Well worn doors

Rough stone walls

Into secret corners

Undisturbed as dust

In the Company of Woodbines

Waiting the slow pour

Of a pint

    Had to Google Woodbines.

This poem is evocative. I “feel” the atmosphere. Again, I marvel at your ability to do so much with so few words, a skill I lack. The seeming simplicity of the poem makes the original details really pop.

I plan to send you the much delayed books next week. Will get them ready tonight.

thanks for the read. toyed with the idea of a foot note re woodbines then thought that if anyone bothered to explore the poem ( or any poem) part of the coolness of poetry is bringing the reader new learnings. thaanks again for the exploring look forward to your books! Thank you!
